With an evidence-based poverty graduation model, Village Enterprise has helped over 80,000 businesses launch, changing the lives of more than 1.6 million people. Our Impact Journey

Our founder’s story is rooted in his heritage and a lifelong drive to create meaningful change. Growing up, he heard his mother’s stories of resilience as a Coloured African who experienced apartheid. Later, visits to South Africa brought those stories to life, as he witnessed the stark divide between wealth and poverty, with communities doing their best to get by. A volunteering stint in Nepal further shaped his values, where the contrast between wealth and poverty revealed the universal need for support and opportunity.

 

These experiences ignited Cameron’s mission to empower entrepreneurs to build businesses that uplift their families and communities. He experimented with several impact organizations, but sought a partner with direct, measurable impact on the ground. 

 

That search led him to Village Enterprise, whose work with underserved entrepreneurs perfectly aligns with his vision of creating real, sustainable change.
